Description
The FMH series ducted fume hood is built to keep lab workers and the environment safe. It works by pulling room air through the front opening and using a fan to continuously vent it out. This system stops harmful fumes, vapors, toxic gases, aerosols, and corrosive substances from spreading during experiments. Additionally, you can add an active carbon filter to clean the air before it’s released outside, protecting the environment even more.
Ducted Fume Hood Feature:
- UV lamp for sterilization.
- Resistant to weak acid and alkali.
- Adjustable air speed: 9 levels.
- Manual front window, height adjustable.
- Microprocessor control system, LCD display.
- With memory function in case of power-failure.

FAQ
What is ducted fume hood?
A ducted fume hood is a ventilation system designed to protect personnel from toxic fumes, vapors, and dust. This containment device channels contaminants through ductwork, ensuring they are safely exhausted into the environment.
Difference between ductless and ducted fume hoods?
Ducted fume hoods can be filtered or unfiltered depending on the design and application. Ductless fume hoods contain filters which clean contaminated air and recirculate it directly back into the laboratory. No additional ductwork is required to exhaust air to the outside.
Do ducted fume hoods have filters?
Ducted fume hoods typically do not have filters. They vent hazardous fumes, vapors, and dust directly outside through ductwork. However, optional filters can be added for specific applications to further purify the exhaust air before it is released into the environment.
How does a ducted fume hood work?
A ducted fume hood works by drawing air away from the user into the hood’s enclosure using a blower. The contaminated air is then directed through ductwork to an external exhaust system, where it is vented outside the building. This process effectively removes hazardous fumes, vapors, and particulates from the laboratory environment, ensuring the safety of personnel.
