Glass bead sterilizers are a class of dry heat sterilizers that provide a safe and rapid sterilization method. The principle is to use high temperature glass beads (diameter 1.5-2.0mm) heat absorption fast heat dissipation slow principle, in the instrument heating tank can be maintained for a longer period of time at a stable high temperature in order to achieve the purpose of dry heat sterilization. Next, let me understand the working principle and selection of Glass Bead Sterilizer.
What is a glass bead sterilizer?
The glass bead sterilizer is an instrument that sterilizes small, solid, metal and glass laboratory equipment by rapidly heating glass beads in less than ten seconds. It has a deep heating chamber and a stainless steel core that heats dry, clean glass beads (1.5 to 2.0 mm in diameter) to approximately 300°C. The use of glass beads eliminates the need for an open flame and instantly destroys fungi, bacteria and viruses.
The Glass Bead Sterilizer offers a wide range of features including a compact design and digital temperature display. It also features a high-precision temperature controller, integrated high-performance heating elements and overheat protection. The internal temperature of the vessel can be heated to 100 to 300 °C in less than 25 minutes. It has been widely used in medical, dental and biological laboratories to effectively sterilize small solid metal and glass instruments within ten seconds, effectively eliminating bacteria and spores. It can be used for surgical forceps, tweezers, scissors, needles, scalpels, inoculation rings and needles.
How to use glass bead sterilizer
- To turn the instrument on, press the START/STOP button on the front panel display.
- After the sterilizer enters its initial state, the display will read a temperature after 2 seconds.
- To adjust the temperature value, press the + or – button and hold it down until it changes to the desired temperature.
- When operating the sterilizer, press the Start/Stop button to turn it off. To restart operation, press the button again.
- As the temperature increases, the indicator light illuminates and flashes when the set temperature is reached.
Precautions for using glass bead sterilizer
- Fill the container with clean and dry glass sterilization beads to a depth standard of about 2cm below the edge of the stainless steel container. Do not use other fillers or liquids in contact with the container.
- Turn on the power switch, it will take some time to warm up before the container temperature reaches the set temperature, and it will keep the internal temperature under the state of power on.
- Do not touch the glass sterilization beads or container before cooling! Avoid burns!
- Insert the dry equipment to be sterilized as far as possible into the glass sterilization beads for at least 10 seconds.
- Please turn off the power switch after use and close the lid to prevent dust and foreign objects.
- Glass sterilization beads must be cleaned at least once a week, and when removing the glass beads, be sure to wait until the instrument is completely cooled.
- Refill and use after strict cleaning and drying. (Remove the glass beads and wash with mild soap, rinse and dry)
